Why do I need health insurance?
Your health and well-being are extremely important.
If you suffer a sickness or injury, the most important thing is for you to get the proper medical attention. Without health insurance, the cost of medical services could limit your access to medical care or leave you with a large debt to pay.
Regent College policy requires that, as an
international student, you have basic health insurance for the
entire duration of your studies at Regent College. If you are
bringing family, they
should also have adequate health insurance during their stay in
Canada.
DCIS provides competitive
emergency hospital & medical insurance options for international
students in Canada, and for immigrants and returning Canadians who
are new to BC who face a waiting period for coverage under the
provincial health plan called BC Medical Services Plan (MSP).

Notes:
1. The Allianz Global Assistance International Students to
Canada Plan featured below is a competitively priced plan
available to FULL-TIME students until they are eligible for coverage
under a Canadian provincial health plan.
2. This plan is designed to cover unforeseen need of emergency
medical services due to sickness, injury, or accident occurring
during the coverage period.
3. An unforeseen medical emergency relating to a pre-existing
medical may be covered if the pre-existing condition met the policy
definition of “Stable” in the 90 days preceding one’s policy
effective date.
4. Routine medical care (including maintenance care of a
pre-existing medical condition) is not covered
5. This plan does not cover mental and emotional disorders, whether
pre-existing or new.
